About Me
My name is Jessica. I’m a graphic designer and clothing designer.
I find inspiration in nature, the garden, and clothing from various historical periods. My design style tends to draw on art deco and midcentury modern elements. While I enjoy creating with many different types of media, the tactile aspect of fabric and the efficiency of digital art have shaped me into the designer I am.
I learned to sew in high school and started making some of my own clothes. Later on, I studied fashion design and have designed many clothes and costumes for myself over the years.
Most recently, I’ve studied graphic design. When the pandemic started and I lost my job for a short time, I learned how to create surface pattern designs for printing on fabric. I enjoyed it so much that even after going back to work, I spent my free time creating new designs, eventually deciding to develop a business out of it.
What I’m working on
I’ve taken an interest in interior design as I work to make my home a comfortable place, reflecting my values and aesthetics. I’ve also been learning about historical clothing and considering ways to use some of those techniques to make modern clothing more comfortable and versatile. This site has emerged out of years of learning and practice, though of course I’m always learning new things.
My hope is to inspire others to use their creative skills and to learn along with me.
Thanks for visiting.
